  I had a dislocated fracture on my tibia and fibula near the ankle. I needed surgery and wanted only the best doctor. I visited 3 different orthopedics and chose Dr. Stiebel at Palm Beach Sports Medicine and here is why. His credentials alone are super impressive. The guy graduated from Yale magna cum laude and did his residency at McGill University. Dr. Stiebel is not a cut corners kind of doctor. Initially, I tried to limit the examination of my ankle because I was scared. I only wanted to show him pictures and hospital x-rays like I did with the first 2 doctors I saw that day. He explained that it would not be good medicine to not properly examine my foot and get an additional x-ray view to determine the amount of hardware needed for the surgery before I’m on the table. Basically, he said that if he wants me to be his doctor we are going to do it his way (but not in those words). I agreed, unwrapped the splint and got the additional x-ray. At first I thought he was being a stickler but then I was so appreciative of his by the book attitude. The x-ray told much more information about the break. This man is professional and does not mess around; that is exactly why I chose him for the surgery. His assistant, Kirsten, is a sweetheart and makes your visit even more personable. She is genuinely happy to see everyone when she calls for patients in the waiting room. I look forward to greeting her at my appointments and don’t think I have ever waited longer than 5 mins to be called. Even the x-ray techs were a pleasure. My surgery was performed at Jupiter Medical Center which was excellent. I would need another review to elaborate. This whole experience has been so emotional for me. I want to happy cry every time I see Dr. Stiebel because I am so thankful. He really cares about your wellbeing and takes the time to sit and answer all your questions. It’s been 3 months since my injury and I am walking in regular tennis shoes. I’m going to physical therapy at Palm Beach Sports Medicine. Those guys are terrific and deserve a review of their own too. Bottom line, if you want a practice with the whole package including the best orthopedic surgeon, office staff, surgery center, and PT… go to Palm Beach Sport Medicine and see Dr. Stiebel.
